Goomba Dave's Page

I just merged over the boomerang suit from Saturn, nice job man! I'm sure they'll all love it! He's built with custom sprites as well.

Alright people, heres the low-down on level designing:

1.On each and everyones source there are a few bundled NSMB backgrounds, these backgrounds are the default bgs you need to use. If you need to edit these, GO AHEAD!Also, if you run-up on carlytoon's backgrounds on MFGG, you can those too.  The backgrounds MUST fit the NSMB style. Also, don't limit youselves to 2 rooms, make a level LONG and perilous! It wont hurt. I am programming multiple checkpoints soon so go ahead!
2.Tiles...people, I encourage tileset mixing, its creative and it gives a nice twist to the levels. So PLEASE mix tilesets, don't limit yourselves to just one set, theres like 6 on there so use them! Also, if anyone can find a good SMW tileset...could use some...just sayin...
3.Music if pretty much non-debatable. I want to use the global tunes to save space and its uniform. If you want to add music, just slip me a message and we'll come to a consensus.
4.Parallax controller...use it...
5.Source merging, its a delicate process so RE-name your source with your name, not "Goomba Dave's Random Levels Source.gmk" instead re-name it to like "Jims's source" not "Jimbobjillywoos source" or on other words not you're entire username...
6.New objects, if you have programmed NEW OBJECTS, please warn me ahead of time so I can merge those over as well as you're sprites...
7.Dudes, dudettes send me some screenies so I can post your work on the site! Latest I hear, Saturns programmed a Boomerang Mario!
8.If you don't have MSN or another messenger...get one to contact me about your stuff. If you just CAN'T get a messenger [email protected] is my e-mail.

Thanks for listening folks! And i'm looking forward to all of your great works! Keep up the good work!

Well, i got done talking to camdenbulat, and hes pretty stoked about helping me out. I put him in charge of world 6, The Sky Domain. I told him what I like in levels and told him what I was looking for: Depth, length and difficulty. I am stoked to see what he has in store for the project. Plus, I have decided to release a world 2 demo in a week or so. Just watch the site or my youtube page and subscribe, rate and comment!
